Why And How To Grow Your Email List

Why email?

Email is personal and one on one.

Email is direct. There is no algorithm ranking your mail.

Your audience can read your email in private instead of a public timeline or newsfeed.

Email is purposeful and targeted.

Someone who goes through the trouble of giving you their information to receive your email means that they are interested in what you have to say.

This allows you to be more targeted in the content and offers that you send to this particular person.

You OWN your email list. Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram can change their policies at any time, which can result in big changes in your business.

With an email list, you control who sees your content.

If you think about it. When you sign up for a social media account. What’s one of the first things they ask for?

It’s your email address.

How to Grow Your Email List?

3 things you need to grow your email list

A website

An email marketing service

An opt-in form

Most visitors to your website will never remember to return. That’s a really good reason to get their email.

By getting their email you can remind them about your website by sending them relevant messages to bring them back.

Your opt-in form should be strategically placed throughout your website to ensure you capture as many emails as possible.

You could put an opt-in form in the header or footer or even in the sidebar of your website.

Even more exciting would be a form that pops up while you’re reading the article. I’m not a big fan of these, but I hear they are very effective.

Another way to attract new subscribers is to offer a freebie. This is free content in the form of a video or pdf or worksheet. Something that is helpful to your audience in return for their email.

These are just a few of the ways to capture emails.

It does not matter what kind of business you have. You want your website visitors to return and the best way to do that is to get their email address.
