How do you grow your business using Twitter?

While there are many things you can do on Twitter to grow your business.

The following will be some basic easy to do things that you should be doing regardless of anything else you do on Twitter.

Post More Often

Posting once or twice a day is not going to make you stand out in the news feed.

The average should probably be around 15 times a day. There are some that post 50 to 100 times a day.

What should you do?

My suggestion would be just to get started.

If that means you only post once or twice a day than that’s good.

The key is to get started and stay consistent.

You don’t want to post today and tomorrow and not again until next week.

Post everyday. Soon your audience will find you.

Stay consistent.

Also, you may want to try posting during the times that are the best for when Twitter users are on the most.

Those times tend to be in the morning around breakfast 8am to 10am, about lunchtime 12pm, and than after dinner 7pm to 9pm.

All times are Eastern Standard Time.

If you notice these times seem to be when workers are taking a break from working.

What Do You Post?

You want to post shareable content.

Posts that are retweetable.

Inspiration content is shareable content. It makes your audience feel good, so they share it to their audience.

Sharing your opinion about a topic may not be the opinion of someone else, so they may not share it on their feed.

Share value about your niche. Sharing a blog post or a video that you created is valuable to your audience.

These are items that you want to share at the times that are the best times to post.

They may get better engagement if post when everyone is already on Twitter.

Be Responsive — Engage In Hashtags

When you get a message or notification that someone shared your content.

The best thing you can do is thank them for sharing and share it to your feed so everyone sees it.

Responding back to someone lets them know you are a real person. Twitter can be known for being robotic. So whenever you can reach out to your audience, it’s another chance to tell them you are a real person and they can trust you.

A great way to engage in person is through hashtags.

Hashtags are used to bring together a conversation.

When you use a hashtag, it allows you to see what everyone is saying about a particular topic.

One of the ways, I use hashtags is to answer questions.

If someone asks a question to someone, but I can answer it before that person can, maybe the person asking the question will come to me next time they need to know something.

As I said before, there are many ways to grow your business, and these are just a few, but hopefully these ideas will get you started.

Happy Twittering
