How to Make Your Blog a Business

You want to make money working online, so you started a blog.

Now what?

Blogging as a Job or Business

To have a successful blog, you are going to have to work hard at it.

My best advice is to treat your blog like a job or a business.

After all, you want to make money from your blog right?

Jobs and businesses make money.

Tips to help treat your blog like a job or business

It doesn’t matter whether you call your blog a job or a business.

My blog is my business and my lifestyle, so I call it a business.

Show Up Every Day On Time

Pick a time everyday to work on your blog.

It doesn’t matter if you post once a week or every day.

There is always something to work on: new posts ideas, marketing, social media, reading and learning.

A lot of work goes into promoting a post and building a community on your blog.

In the beginning, you may work harder for less money.

The goal is to be consistent, so you can be paid for work that you have already done.

No one is born a great blogger.

When you started your job, you had to trained.

Blogging is the same way.

The internet and blogging and social media are always changing.

To keep up and be a great blogger, you have to always be learning.

If that’s not enough work yet, I’m sure i can come up with more to do.

Walk Away – Take Time Off

Most jobs have days off. I can think a few that don’t have days off, but most do.

Your blog (business) needs a boss (you) with a clear mind.

Taking time off from your business is the best way to recharge your mind, and refocus your ideas.

Think about this

Have you ever been stuck trying to do something and you just couldn’t figured it out.

You walk away for a minute and all of the sudden, it’s like the answer dropped out of nowhere.

The answer may of been in front of you the whole time, but you were too tired to see it.

Everyone needs time off.

Don’t know what to write about?  Walk away and get inspired.

Some of my best ideas came to me when I was doing something other than working on my business.

Create a schedule. Choose the days to work on your blog, and the days to relax.

Don’t feel guilty about taking the time off.

Having a fresh mind, will help you become a better blogger.

Blog like a Business not a Hobby

Entrepreneurs are willing to work 80 hours a week to avoid working 40 hours a week. —Lori Greiner

Bloggers that work hard and treat their blog like a business or job are more likely to see the success they desire.

Many people do not like their jobs, but they still have to work.

They are accountable to their bosses, and to their co workers.

As a blogger, you are accountable to only you, so you have to push yourself to work harder.

Dream Big and Enjoy What You Do

All bloggers start at the same place.

The successful ones, are the ones, that have put in long hours over years to achieve their success.

You are no different.

Dream for that success but enjoy the process and small wins along the way.

A win is a win no matter how small.

Enjoy it and build from it.
